Fresco tracking and usage

Fresco is a painting technique that involves applying water-based pigments directly onto wet plaster, typically on walls or ceilings. As the plaster dries, the pigments become permanently embedded, resulting in long-lasting and vibrant images.

The art of Fresco has been practiced for thousands of years, with early examples dating back to ancient civilizations such as Egypt, Crete, and India. However, it was during the Italian Renaissance when this technique gained significant prominence and popularity.

Fresco paintings are characterized by their durability and larger-than-life murals often depicting religious, historical, or mythological scenes. As the pigments are applied on wet plaster, Frescoes exhibit a natural and harmonious blending of colors, which gives them a unique visual effect and depth.

Yes, Frescoes continue to be used in contemporary art and architecture, both in religious settings like churches and chapels, as well as in secular spaces such as public buildings and private homes. They maintain their timeless appeal and are still appreciated for their artistic and historical values.

Some of the most famous Frescoes in art history include scenes from the Sistine Chapel ceiling painted by Michelangelo, the Last Supper by Leonardo da Vinci, and the Allegory of Good and Bad Government by Ambrogio Lorenzetti in Siena's Palazzo Pubblico.
