Equipped with a five-hole paper tape input-output interface, Simon's compact size and affordability were signature innovations of the time. The outer casing displayed glass tubes and four big rotary switches for user interaction. Although limited by the scope of modern computing, Simon's design philosophy and ease-of-use paved the way for the inception of personal computing devices.
